Sony DADC expands supply chain services with Czech plant

Sony DADC opened a new packaging, refurbishment and service centre in Pilsen, Czech Republic. The central European facility further extends Sony DADC’s European supply chain infrastructure, serving entertainment and information industry customers throughout Europe.

The opening of Sony DADC Czech Republic, s.r.o. continues the company’s long-term strategic investment programme in infrastructure resources. Through this strategy, Sony DADC has created the world’s largest entertainment supply chain network in 19 countries worldwide. Alongside Pilsen, the company’s European distribution facilities are located in Frankfurt, Paris, Madrid, Gothenburg and Enfield, UK. Manufacturing sites are located in Salzburg and Southwater, UK.

Located in the heart of central Europe – 420 km to Frankfurt and 950 km to Paris – the Pilsen facility will be able to provide short turnaround times to all the major European territories. The centre extends over 17,000 square metres and offers a range of specialised manual assembly services, with a view to soon expanding its portfolio to returns management and POS display solutions.

Sony DADC says it has succeeded in transferring many skills and much of the experience gained from its other European service centres to its Czech site, which is now preparing for peak season.
