Roxio gets BD 3D certification for CinePlayer; unveils VideoLab 3D

Roxio, a division of Sonic Solutions, announced that CinePlayer, its media player for Windows, has received Blu-ray Profile 5 (3D) certification from the Blu-ray Disc Association. Blu-ray 3D support enhances CinePlayer's already extensive feature set for the playback of 3D video entertainment and personal video content.

In addition to 3D Blu-ray discs, CinePlayer allows users to view stereoscopic 3D content in a broad range of formats. CinePlayer also provides real-time conversion of 2D video to 3D, so users can screen their existing library of DVDs and home movies in 3D. The player is also the first 3D-enabled player to support instant access to new movies delivered digitally via services powered by RoxioNow (formerly CinemaNow).

Roxio also unveiled VideoLab 3D, the world's first personal video editing suite for capturing, editing, and sharing personal 3D content. Designed to be bundled with 3D-enabled PCs, laptops, cameras, camcorders, and accessories, Roxio VideoLab 3D allows users to import a wide range of 3D video formats including stereoscopic content directly from 3D cameras. The software also automatically converts standard 2D content into 3D.
