ZOO licenses DVD automation software to CBS Home Entertainment

Sheffield, UK-based ZOO Digital, provider of software services for the filmed entertainment market, announces that its products for automated creation of DVD titles have been licensed to CBS Home Entertainment.

CBS Home Entertainment manages the worldwide DVD and Blu-ray businesses for the CBS Corporation across all lines of content including current hits, such as NCIS, Dexter and 90210, and classic series from the vast CBS library.

In an initiative to internalise DVD production on selected titles, CBS Home Entertainment will use ZOO’s products to design and produce certain DVD titles in-house at its facility in Television City, rather than outsource all of this work to traditional service providers. ZOO’s workflow automation systems enable video titles to be created quickly and easily without requiring specialist knowledge.

Stuart Green, CEO of ZOO commented: “This agreement further cements our position in the entertainment industry through a relationship with a leading provider of television content on DVD, demonstrating the significant benefits that our solutions bring.”

ZOO Digital’s services are built on its proprietary patented software and enable customers to reduce considerably the costs and time to market of regionalised filmed entertainment titles and marketing campaigns across multiple territories and across a wide range of applications and formats, including printed materials, DVD, Blu-ray Disc, video-on-demand, electronic sell-through and broadcast.
