Romania' Optical Disc Solutions gets CDSA Programme accreditation

Optical Disc Solutions S.R.L. is the first certified plant in Romania under the CDSA Copyright And Licensing Verification Program. The accreditation resulted from a comprehensive examination and review of ODS’s Anti-Piracy Procedures by an independent auditor.

Optical Disc Solutions was formerly part of the ODS Group from May 2006 until May 2008 when the company was acquired by local management. It now offers CD and DVD replication and in the case of the latter it is the only provider in Romania. They are a Philips licensed company and ISO 9001 and 14001 certified.

Zoltan Tussai, General Manager of ODS said, “we are very pleased to become a CDSA accredited company as we understand the importance of protecting intellectual property. This achievement represents our commitment to the prevention of entertainment media piracy and our support for content owners in this regard.”

CDSA’s Anti-Piracy and Compliance Programs Director in Europe, Peter Wallace managed the accreditation process and commented, “ODS has shown a determination to fight piracy and we have been involved with them and the Romanian Government in ensuring the protection of intellectual rights, we welcome them into the Program.”

The CDSA Content Protection and Security standards and procedures are part of the association’s global array of anti-piracy and compliance programs providing content protection from copyright infringement, security violations, and distribution losses of physical and electronic media. Under these programs, which are supported by owners of intellectual property including music, films, games and business software supply chain partners, comply with a stringent set of systems and procedures, cumulating in comprehensive, independent audits.
