German BD-Live technology embraced by US Giant Interactive

A BD-Live solution developed by German interactive studio Imagion AG is now available in North America under the ‘BD-Connect’ brand name through a partnership with leading authoring and production facility Giant Interactive.

BD-Connect is the North American brand name for dynamicHD, claimed to be the most advanced BD-Live solution available today. The dynamicHD technology was launched in 2007 by Imagion, one of Europe’s premier interactive studios, leveraging their expertise in development for DVD and the Internet.

The release of T2 Terminator on HD DVD with dynamicHD garnered the company significant critical acclaim. Imagion then ported the system to Blu-ray and had since released the technology on more than 400 disc titles worldwide.

BD-Connect has a highly scalable architecture with Akamai edge server content delivery, allowing for rapid loading of geo-targeted BD-Live components including full screen progressive streaming video, HD downloads, synched movie viewing experiences, user generated quizzes, trivia tracks, photo galleries, marketing banners, iPhone applications, live event downloads, RSS feeds and menu widgets.

BD-Connect is currently featured on CBS/Paramount Home Entertainment’s recently released “CSI” Blu-ray release.

dynamicHD is available in North America as BD-Connect exclusively through Giant Interactive.
