Testronic Labs celebrates 10 years,1000th Blu-ray disc QAed

Home entertainment QA specialist Labs celebrated two key milestones this month: its tenth anniversary as a provider of quality assurance services for DVD and Blu-ray discs, and the testing of its 1,000th Blu-ray disc stock keeping unit SKU), a first for the optical media industry.

A market leader, the company developed some of the first test plans for Blu-ray navigation and functionality, player compatibility, audio, video and subtitle QC, and format verification.

Currently, Testronic Labs is leading the way in testing for BD-Java and BD-Live features, as well as for new distribution platforms such as mobile devices and digital copy.

In the course of the past decade, Testronic Labs has worked with every major Hollywood studio and most leading independents worldwide. “Over the years, we have continually refined and enhanced our processes in order to deliver efficient, effective, and reliable results,” states Testronic Labs Executive Vice President Seth Hallen. “Our clients benefit directly from this experience in terms of time and cost savings, and we ultimately give them the confidence they need as they bring new products to market.”

The company operates state-of-the-art test facilities in the United States, the United Kingdom, Belgium, and Poland. Testronic Labs New Technology facility on Empire Avenue in Burbank, the most advanced in the industry, is home to its research and development in future digital content delivery and home entertainment technologies, such as 3D.

In addition to Blu-ray discs, Testronic Labs offers testing for interactive games, software, web applications and other media. An international team of games testers provide localization, functionality, PC compatibility, compliance, usability and MMOG performance testing for PCs and all video game consoles.
