Technicolor extends services to Disney, creates post facility at Paramount

Technicolor has extended its existing multi-territory DVD replication and distribution agreements with Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment. The Thomson subsidiary is also to create a state-of-the-art post-production sound facility on the Paramount Hollywood lot.

As part of this new multi-year agreement, and in addition to existing core services such as mastering, replication, packaging, distribution and returns processing services, Technicolor will now provide freight management services to Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment in North America.

Technicolor has been providing DVD replication services to Disney since the inception of DVD’s in the late 90’s.

As for the new sound facility, it will become the centerpiece of Paramount’s Post Production Village, providing a wide range of post-production services for filmed entertainment, television productions and commercial producers.

As a key feature, the new sound facility will include two world-class theatrical mixing stages as well as a full complement of ADR, television mixing and audio editorial rooms.

Technicolor will manage the operation of the new facility in collaboration with Paramount. The opening of the facility is anticipated for the first quarter of 2010.
