Dutch subsidiary loosens ties with M2 Engineering

The Dutch subsidiary of Swedish replication line manufacturer M2 Engineering AB has changed its name following the increase in stake holding by the previously minority shareholder.

Renamed 4PICO BV, the new company will now be involved in product development and engineering services and diversify into other business sectors outside the optical disc industry.

M2 Engineering’s SQM glass mastering system is now a matured product and the support required can easily be carried out as part of the new activities, says the company. 4PICO has entered into a comprehensive co-operation agreement with M2 Engineering for the supply of Laser Beam Recorders for the SQM mastering platfor.

"We have been very impressed with what our Dutch engineers have achieve with the SQM, particularly the move into the mastering of the third-generation formats. We are comfortable to give them the freedom to explore other business areas whilst at the same time securing their long-term commitment to continue to support and further develop the SQM platform to ensure that it also becomes the leading mastering solution for the third-generation formats," commented M2 Engineering CEO, Carl Langenskiold.
