James Bond's 'Skyfall' is UK's biggest selling video in first half of 2013

Skyfall is the biggest selling title of any kind on video, but is also the biggest selling DVD, the biggest selling blu-ray and the biggest selling film on video - with total sales in excess of 2.8m units over the six month period - according to The Official Charts Company, which compiles the UK's video charts.

Skyfall was the only title to sell more than 2 million units, with The Hobbit, Les Miserables and The Twilight Saga-Breaking Dawn Part 2 also selling over 1 million copies.

The TV video market was dominated by Game Of Thronesand Mrs Brown's Boys, which claimed six places in the half-yearly Official TV Video Top 10 between them. Mrs Brown's Boys was the biggest TV video of the half-year, followed by Game Of Thrones' second season.

"The strength of Skyfall, Game Of Thrones and Mrs Brown's Boys shows that DVD and Blu-ray continues to be a hugely popular entertainment format, either as a personal treat or a gift," says Martin Talbot, Official Charts Company chief executive.

The full half-yearly charts (which are based on sales of videos from week 1 to week 26 of this year ? up to the end of Saturday June 29) are outlined below.
