Hofmann, Stevens keynote at Video Entertainment 2008

Nico Hofmann, CEO of major production house TeamWorx (Dresden, The Airlift, The Storm Surge), and dubbed Germany’s King of TV movies, will be the opening keynote speaker at Video Entertainment 2008, the 9th annual Home Entertainment Summit for the German-speaking territories and Western Europe taking place on 22-23 October in Munich.

Hofmann will share his personal view of the new entertainment era in the digital age which offers new challenges for TV producers who are selling their programs also via DVD or digital delivery.

The second day will debut with a keynote by David Stevens, Vice President International Marketing, at Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. He will focus on the key developments and strategies of a major studio looking at VOD, 3-D at home, managed copies, manufacturing-on-demand and other market segments.

Amongst several events, the conference will feature a supersession with executives from major studios and independent. Expected to be on the panel are:

- Dirk Lisowsky, Regional Managing Director GSA, Italy, Iberia of Universal Pictures
- Willi Geike, President & Managing Director Warner Bros. Ent. Germany & Austria
- Andreas Kelz, Managing Director Paramount Pictures GSA
- Joachim Spang, Managing Director, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment Germany
- Fred Kogel, Chairman of German’s major publisher Constantin Film (Perfume – Story of a murderer, Resident Evil).

Video Entertainment attracts every year more than 500 participants from DVD suppliers, replicators, packaging companies, authoring studios, retailers and rentailers, PR agencies and other related industries.

Traditionally, the event closes with the glamorous Video Night where the Video Champion Awards is given to the best performing products and companies in the home entertainment business.
