Andrew Elia, Arishi Media Tech
Presentation delivered at the 2nd Blu-ray Disc Academy 3D conference, Hamburg, 3-4 May 2011.
Andrew Elia is the UK's leading expert in bringing marker-less augmented reality technology to major brands. As co-founder and CTO of Crossplatform, Andrew bridges the gap between technology and the commercial and creative vision. A member of both BAFTA and Mensa, Andrew is a veteran of the new media and interactive industry, responsible for developing some of the earliest and most ground-breaking internet based projects for Volkswagen UK and Umbro and co-writing the popular football website, Football 365.
Later, Andrew started his own business, developing software for server, desktop, mobile and embedded environments for clients such as Mercedes-Benz, British Telecom, Vodafone, GCHQ, Thomas Cook and Saatchi & Saatchi. In 2007 he sold his share in the business before moving on to start Crossplatform together with Nick Brown, a senior executive from BSkyB and John Emerson, an ex-board director of Saatchi & Saatchi.
Andrew has led Crossplatform's implementation of complex augmented reality promotions for Paramount UK, IPC, Future Publishing, Hugo Boss, Nokia, JC Decaux and Ubisoft.
